RETURN TO LEARN Plan 2020-2021
LoneStar Staff, Students, Parents and Stakeholders,
I would like to begin by saying how deeply I have missed you all. I have missed seeing the smiling faces of your children, and the conversations that we are able to share. I hope that during our time apart that you and your family have remained in good health, and in good spirits as we have all found ourselves facing a tremendous amount of uncertainty in life. It is my greatest hope and desire that we will be able to come together in a few short weeks and begin the journey of one of the greatest tasks that I hold dear in life; educating your child.
Since our dismissal in March 2020, there has been a great deal of planning and behind the scenes activity that has went into our educational plan and process. While COVID-19 presents many unique factors that we as a society have never experienced, one factor remains the same; The education of children is a necessity. That education should be of high quality and always promoting the best learning environment for our children. COVID-19 has caused us to take extra precautionary measures and plans for circumstances that are out of our control. We can however continue to educate our children in the safest and most effective way possible. Attached, you will find the re-entry plan for Ripley Co R-IV Schools.
Please take the time to read this plan and do not hesitate to call and schedule a visit with me personally if there is anything that you do not understand or that you would like to discuss in further detail. Please take into consideration that just as your daily routines have changed so has the planning and preparation for our school year. It is imperative to understand that this is our re-entry plan and that it could change as conditions arise and new information is made available.
The re-entry plan that follows is a flexible document that is intended to meet the needs of our students, staff and community. This plan follows policy and procedures suggested by other area school districts, state and local health departments, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Please keep in mind that it is impossible to know what the future holds but by being flexible with this plan, we will be able to continually meet the needs of our students. If components of this plan would need to be revised due to the changing conditions of COVID-19 you will be notified immediately.
Once again, I hope that you all are safe and healthy and continue to follow that trend. I hope to see you all at our Open House on August 19, 2020 at 6pm. Please meet at the ball field and bring your lawn chairs! If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach me at 573-966-7118 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
